We are very fortunate to live on the edge of the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Orkney, close by is the tomb of Maeshowe, the Standing Stones of Stenness, the Ring of Brodgar, and the recently excavated Ness of Brodgar site, also several miles away from Skara Brae.
Part of the view you can relax and unwind to at our Orkney B&B includes the beautiful hills of Hoy, along with two large fishing lochs. The fertile farmland in the foreground produces a perfect setting to view some of the many local farm animals, along with the active local wildlife, such as our abundant brown hare population. The panoramic setting also gives the perfect environment to view the many birds which inhabit Orkney, such as our resident hen harriers and short eared owls.
Our family home is located in a central part of the mainland of Orkney, providing ideal Orkney holiday accommodation. The location will give you access to the main road through Orkney within 5 mins, and provide an ideal base for your Orkney holiday activities. We would recommend having your own transport, but there is local bus service within 1-2 miles, and a taxi can be arranged for your convenience.
We have tried to include information that will help you to plan your trip to Orkney and provide some great memories to take away. Whether you choose to visit to experience the long days of the summer, or dramatic and beautiful scenes of the winter, you are very welcome.
Please contact us if we can give you the benefit of our many years of knowledge gained growing up, living, and working on the islands. The home comforts of Orcadian hospitality, and a very warm welcome, await you when you stay.
